Product Overview

Series KYN28A 12(z) withdrawable metal-clad Indoor AC switchgear (hereafter called as KYN28A simply) is mainly used in 3.6~12kV three-phase AC 50Hz single-bus and single-bus sectional power system for the power transmission of power plant and medium or small-scale power generator, for the power distribution of industrial and mining enterprises, for the power transmission of the secondary substation of electrical system, as well as for the large capacity high-voltage motor etc. to fulfill the control protection and monitor. The KYN28A complies with the requirement of standards such as IEC 62271-200 and GB 3906 and DL/T 404, etc; and has passed the tests of arcing due to internal fault. The series of switchgear has various rated current from 630 to 5000A, and breaking current from 20 to 50kA. Its width is also standardized in 800mm, 1000mm and 650mm. The KYN28A can be equipped with either VD4 type VCB from ABB Company, or domestic VS1 type VCB, or various vacuum contactors to meet the different operation requirements.

Structure and Component

The cabinet of KYN28A is mainly consisted of two big parts: cabinet body and drawable unit (carriage), see fig.1 and 2. Cabinet body is portioned into four individual chambers with IP4X, and IP2X for the others and opened CB chamber. This cabinet is with the features of overhead line or cable incoming and outgoing and others to get various distribution circuit arrangements. The maintenance can be done at front side or rear side, at front side one can safely and neatly be aligned close to wall for saving space ff chosen. See fig.1 and 2 also.

Metal-clad shell and others

Metal-clad shell is made of Aluzinc coated steel sheet processed and multi-folded bended by digital machine tool, All chambers are jointed fast together by pulling rivet or bolts and nuts. it therefore has accurate dimension and strong anti-corrosion and nice aspect and is easy assembly.

Carriage

According to the using purpose, modular and assembling carriages are sorted to VCB, PT, metering and insulation one.Each carriage with same specification can be exchanged easy. In the cabinet the carriage is with two position- test position and service one. There is a localizer in each position to ensure interlock reliable. The operation should be in according to the process of Interlock-anti-mal-operation. Carriage is driven by manual worm machine to go forward or return smoothly and agilely.When removing the carriage from cabinet the cart can be used in which the checking and maintenance can be done conveniently.The design of mid-set leads the cabinet small size and convenient check and maintenance.

When pushing the VCB carriage which equipped with VCB and accessories and putting on the cart in to VCB chamber of cabinet,it can be locked in test position, the position indicating lamp will be on simultaneously, Only be the carriage locked in fully, the driver can be rotated by manual to push the carriage in to service position, once the carriage be located in right position, the driver can not be rotated again, and meantime make a sound "Ka", at the same time the position indicating lamp will be on to indicate the VCB carriage to be service position. The mechanical interlock of carriage ensures that only is the carriage in service or test position, the VCB can be closed, and only is the carriage in opening position the VCB cab be moved.

Note: If reguiring frequent operation, the VCB can be substituted by Vacuum Contactor.(see fig.030in primary circuit scheme)

Chamber

Each main component of KYN28A cabinet has own chamber with IP 2X each other, such as VCB carriage chamber, busbar chamber, cables chamber and relays or metering chamber.Besides relays or metering chamber the other chambers have a pressure release duct separately and has passed the tests of arcing due to internal fault.

VCB carriage chamber B

The double side of VCB carriage chamber is equipped with rails for moving the VCB carriage 16 from testing to working position,and with static contact bushings 6 and movable steel sheets 18 in its rear wall. The upper and nether removable sheets will open automatically when the VCB carriage moving in due to the mechanical links and close vice-versa to cover the static contacts to form an efficient insulating. The upper and nether removable sheets are not be linked together so the one side of removable sheet can be locked individually to isolate the living part of cabinet therefore to keep the safety of maintainer. The carriage also can be operated when the chamber door to be closed. The position of carriage and VCB (closing or opening) and the spring can be check through the view-window located in mid door.

Busbar chamber A

Main busbars in cabinet are arranged in Delta shape,Sectionalized main busbar 4 in its chamber of each cabinet are jointed crossed with branch busbar by bolts and nuts when installation, and connected to static contact by branch busbar. The busbars in the cabinet are designed in to rectangle shape and made of copper; For large rated current double pieces of busbar in parallel are adopted; The busbars can be insulated by epoxy resin or insulation sleeve when required. The busbar bushing 3 is used for connecting conjoint cabinets therefore the arc fault can be limited in a chamber without spread in the case of accident.

Cables chamber C

The CT 7 and earthing switch 8 can be located in the rear wall of chamber together and lightning arrester 10 in its rear nether part due to its big space caused by mid-set design in front-maintaining cabinet. The VCB carriage 16 and the horizontal steel sheet 14can be removed for installation or maintenance.1 to 3 cores of cable can be connected to terminal of each phase or 6 cores if needed. There is a removable cover with gap of cable hole for entering to chamber to install or maintain cable terminals in the bottom of cabinet .

Relays and metering chamber D

Relays and meters and power indicators as well as other secondary device (if any) can be fitted in this chamber. The connecting cables are lie in wire-troughs with metal cover to separate from high voltage parts, The left side troughs are for control cables outgoing, right side one for inner control wirings.When wiring, the chamber top plate which with through hole in formini-busbar can be turned-over to help for installation of mini-busbar.
